Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas, everyone šŸ’›

It is not Friday, but, it is Christmas.

This year, for whatever reason, Christmas has been different. Maybe itā€™s because Iā€™m getting married next month and my mind has been solely focused on wedding planning for months now. It almost felt like Christmas wasnā€™t Christmas - as if the last remaining weeks of the year were passing at two miles a minute.

About a week ago as I was doing some things around the house, I way praying and thought to myself, ā€œLord, donā€™t let me forget what Christmas is really about. In my busyness, donā€™t let me lose sight that it is about You Jesus. You, the greatest gift there ever was.ā€

I am convinced that this one thought and prayer has permanently changed my life.

For years, Christmas felt like family time, buying gifts for everyone (budgeting), pajamas, unity, peace and Christmas cookies. Now, I truly understand that Christmas is about Jesus! It is the beginning of the greatest miracle and gift called salvation. It is where my life begins in Christ and the reason for eternal life. Itā€™s the climax of an already beautiful love story that started in the Garden of Eden.

At 31 years old, I finally understand it. I wish I could truly experience and write about it. Thereā€™s such a difference in my heart, spirit and mind this Christmas. Itā€™s where Jesusā€™ life began so we could have life abundantly, hope, encouragement, faith, salvation and love.

I canā€™t imagine how precious that night was when Jesus was born. How wonderful, holy, and pure it was. How His birth is still to this day just as powerful, purposeful and loving. His birth came from loveā€¦from a love we will never truly understand. His birth came at a cost in so many ways so we could be with Him forever. His birth is peace, joy, hope and love. There arenā€™t enough words in the English language to completely experience what His birth means but my God, am I so glad I finally get it. I truly understand in my heart.

May we never lose sight of what Christmas really means in our busyness or whatever the case may be. Yes, Christmas can still be about being with family, giving, and Christmas cookies šŸ˜‚šŸ˜. Yet, let us never lose our wonder and reverence for the true reason of the season, the precious and holy birth of King Jesus, who brought salvation to the world.

If youā€™re reading this and donā€™t know or believe in Jesus, thatā€™s okay. Welcome to On Fridays, We Clean, where we talk about Jesus and cleaning. Know that the God of the universe is absolutely besotted with you. He loves you with a love that weā€™ll never truly understand because of our flawed understanding of love. He wants you to get to know Him and Heā€™ll wait for you. You donā€™t have to be afraid of Him. Donā€™t believe the lies that Heā€™s a mean God, pointing His finger at you and condemning you.  He loves you and is waiting with open arms to embrace you with unconditional love. You can give Him a chance. Give Him a chance to show you who he really is, not what people have told you, and experience Him for yourself.

We love you, Jesus and I.
