Pour Some Faith On It
Happy Friday, everyone!
Someone asked me yesterday if I thought our prayers have the power to change our situations. I do believe our prayers have the power to change a situation but I believe it has to do with our faith as well. Our faith, our prayers and the power of the Holy Spirit in us.
That said, we do live in a fallen world and there are some things that happen because of that. If a prayer request doesn’t get answered, does that then mean we didn’t have enough faith or pray hard enough? The short answer is no.
I will say this, when those prayer requests don’t get answered the way we hoped or prayed for, those times really refine us and should deepen our trust in the Father. He is good regardless of the outcome of our prayers because His character is good. Not because of what He does or doesn’t do. That took years for me to understand and it’s still an undertaking if I’m honest.
Luke 8:48, “He said to her, “Daughter, your faith [your personal trust and confidence in Me] has made you well. Go in peace (untroubled, undisturbed, well-being).”
Yes, your faith and prayers can move mountains (Matthew 17:20)! Continue to have faith and be bold in prayer (1 John 5:14)!
If you’re reading this and don’t know or believe in Jesus, that’s okay. Welcome to On Fridays, We Clean and know that the God of the universe is absolutely besotted with you. He loves you with a love that we’ll never truly understand because of our flawed understanding of love. He wants you to get to know Him and He’ll wait for you. You don’t have to be afraid of Him. Don’t believe the lies that He’s a mean God, pointing His finger at you and condemning you. He loves you and is waiting with open arms to embrace you with unconditional love. You can give Him a chance. Give Him a chance to show you who He really is, not what people have told you, and experience Him for yourself.
We love you, Jesus and I.
