On Fridays, We Clean
This might sound strange, but I don’t mind cleaning. I wouldn’t say I love it or enjoy it, but I do love the results of what cleaning brings. Cleaning brings order, structure, simplicity and even peace. However, cleaning can be tiring, hard work, frustrating and a lot to do.
I believe the same can be said of our time with Jesus as He daily cleanses us from the inside out. I have had some of my most powerful moments of worship and surrender with the Lord as I clean. There have been times where I end up on my knees crying and worshiping the Lord meanwhile, thirty seconds before I was washing the dishes LOL. I have also had some ugly moments where I am angry with God as I clean. However, those moments or meltdowns have brought me so much closer to His embrace and grace. He has corrected me in kindness during those times. He has made me brand new and washed away dirt in my heart with the same swiftness as I do when I dust my furniture.
I hope you guys join me on this new adventure of sharing some of my favorite cleaning methods. But most importantly, how God is always with us in the mess; He cleanses us with grace and we are better because of it.
