Merry Christmas - A Child Is Born
Merry Christmas, everyone! Wow, it’s been so long. I know it’s not Friday, but I’m blogging anyway.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. - Luke 2:11
The other day I was chatting with someone. I feel like most of my blogs stem from random conversations. While she and I were talking, she shared that she was feeling a bit down because of a loss she had experienced. I guess the holidays weren’t feeling so festive because of her loss. It made me feel compassion towards her as I too was wondering how our first Christmas would be without my mother-in-love. The memories of her passing have become more real during this time, especially as the year anniversary approaches quickly. However, (don’t you just love the word however?) I love that we serve the God of victory, hope, joy, redemption and love.
While my friend and I were chatting, I told her that this year, I really started to see and understand the birth of Jesus in a different way. Because of His birth, we can have hope for a better future and our futures are so beautiful and bright.
I’ve learned a lot about loss, grief and death this year. And one thing I know for sure is that because of Jesus and His birth, there is joy since loss and death are not final with Him! His birth gives us such victory, guys! There is no one else in the world whose birth comes with life and life more abundantly. There is no one else in the world whose birth comes with hope. There is no one else in the world whose birth comes with promise and redemption. His birth brings salvation for those who believe in Him and confess Him as Lord and Savior. And His birth brings redemption. Redemption to each story, each loss and each person who calls Him Savior. He is the greatest Friend.
Be encouraged, no loss is final with Jesus. The reunion and eternity is what’s final 🤍, not the loss. His birth brings life and hope.
See this Christmas and His birth forevermore as joy and victory on this side of Heaven and eternity. He is victory, He is hope and He is joy.
If you’re reading this and don’t know or believe in Jesus, that’s okay. Welcome to On Fridays, We Clean and know that the God of the universe is absolutely besotted with you. He loves you with a love that we’ll never truly understand because of our flawed understanding of love. He wants you to get to know Him and He’ll wait for you. You don’t have to be afraid of Him. Don’t believe the lies that He’s a mean God, pointing His finger at you and condemning you. He loves you and is waiting with open arms to embrace you with unconditional love. You can give Him a chance. Give Him a chance to show you Who He really is, not what people have told you, and experience Him for yourself.
We love you, Jesus and I.
